2018 College Football Preseason All-Americans

College football season is almost here. And usually that means the AP makes a list of preseason All-Americans.

Well, sometimes they aren’t exactly transparent with the criteria for making the team.

Here is a list of college football’s preseason All-Americans based on last year’s performances and/or how they’ll fare in 2018:

First Team


  • Quarterback- Drew Lock, Missouri
  • Running Back- Bryce Love, Stanford; Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin
  • Receivers- A.J. Brown, Ole Miss; Marquise Brown, Oklahoma
  • Tight End- Albert Okwuebunam, Missouri
  • Tackles- Jonah Williams, Alabam; Trey Adams, Washington
  • Guards- Beau Benzschawel, Wisconsin; Nate Herbig, Stanford
  • Center- Sam Mustipher, Notre Dame
  • All-Purpose Player- Deebo Samuel, South Carolina
  • Kicker- Matt Gay, Utah


  • Ends- Nick Bosa, Ohio State; Clelin Ferrell, Clemson
  • Tackles- Ed Oliver, Houston; Christian Wilkins, Clemson
  • Linebackers- T.J. Edwards, Wisconsin; Devin Bush, Michigan; Devin White, LSU
  • Cornerbacks- Andraez “Greedy” Williams, LSU; Deandre Baker, Georgia
  • Safeties- Lukas Denis, Boston College; Jaquan Johnson, Miami
  • Punter- Jake Bailey, Stanford

Second Team

  • All-Purpose Player- Myles Gaskin, Washington
  • Kicker- Jameson Vest, Toledo


  • Ends- Sutton Smith, Northern Illinois; Rashan Gary, Michigan
  • Tackles- Dexter Lawrence, Clemson; Jeffrey Simmons, Mississippi State
  • Linebackers- Cameron Smith, USC; Dakota Allen, Texas Tech; Troy Dye, Oregon

Now, all that’s left to do is watch these players handle their business on the field. Of course, this list will be completely different by the end of the season.
